Gameplay
The game is both parts a point-and-click adventure, and a text adventure.
Laura takes a phone call!
Laura will tend to wander around aimlessly, making cute poses and pondering to herself. Clicking on things in the overworld will give some situational dialogue between Laura and whoever else is the room. Just a bit of riff raff.
Clicking on Laura will take you to the talk screen, where you can directly talk to Laura using text input. Laura will give you a much more detailed insight into her surroundings. You can also give Laura commands, like telling her to interact with or pick up objects. There is a lot that more you can do here than by clicking things on the overworld!
Graphics
It took a while to settle on an art style. I had to simplify the character designs and make certain aspects, like their eyes, more apparent. It was challenging to make them stand out at such a small resolution. The shadows are accurate to the character's actions and make them appear flat like paper against the pseudo 3D environment.

Left: Old, Right: New
Laura's close-up sprite is much more straight forward, literally. I chose to make her face forward for a good reason. It's easier to animate! I can't wait to show y'all the jiggle physics.
Music
I originally intended for a mutual to compose the music for the game, but they chose not to inquire further. I kind of felt like I was out of luck, no one else had the sound I was looking for. So I decided I would learn to compose music myself. It's been about 6 months since I started learning!
This is the main track of the game. A bossa nova bop that plays throught the dollhouse. There will be additional tracks. They are still currently in the works!
Accessibility
I want to make sure the player has a good experience interfacing with the game, so I have added multiple control schemes. The game will detect what pheripheral you are using (mouse, keyboard, gamepad) and adjust the control scheme automatically.
Laura's used to the obvious being stated.
The text parser is fairly forgiving. I recently programmed a "Simplifier" that throws grammar out the window and dumbs down certain wording to allow Laura to have an easier time understanding with her bimbo brain.
The spanish translation might even be cruder than the original!
Multiple languages are supported. I will be working with a friend to bring an official spanish translation. I am currently learning japanese and would love to bring an official japanese translation as well, though I may need to get more study in before I can tackle it fully.
